Cyber Zed Shed Presentation from ACRL

Robin Sinn and I gave a presentation at ACRL in an interesting set of practical technology-related sessions called the Cyber Zed Shed. In our presentation we walked through how the Sheridan Libraries are using MetaLib, the MetaLib X-Server, Xerxes, our Horizon catalog, and LibGuides together to achieve interactivity in our online library guides, streamline some workflows when it comes to electronic resources organization and display, and leverage the ability to embed library search tools in a online environments.

The development work of Jonathan Rochkind and David Walker on Xerxes, and Sean Hannan in building a catalog search tool generator, makes much of what we walked through possible.

Our presentation is below; we also did a live demonstration of building a basic guide in under five minutes not captured in the slides. Please let us know if you have any questions.
